MODELS: HPR**12X/XAA,
HPR**52X/XAA,
HPR**72X/XAA,
HPR**82X/XAA
SUBJECT: Intermittent bright or dark “pixel sparkling” in the dark or bright
areas of the screen
SYMPTOM: This issue is known as “Error Diffusion”.
1. Under Diffusion: Dark Pixels in bright areas of the screen
2. Over Diffusion: Bright Pixels in the dark areas of the screen
REPAIR: Voltage/Control Signal correction adjustment to the panel.
1. Adjust Vs, Vscan, Va, Vset and Ve to match the voltages
listed on the panel sticker.
a. If voltages will not adjust correctly, troubleshoot to
locate problem and correct before continuing.
2. Verify Y-FR and Y-RR timing signals are correct (refer to
service manual for test points and signal diagrams)
3. Using the screen wipe in service menu, allow the TV 20
minutes to come up to operating temperature.
a. Under Diffusion: Reduce the Vs voltages 10Vdc.
b. Over Diffusion: Increase the Vs voltages 10Vdc.
4. Allow the TV to continue to operate for 20 minutes and
verify proper operation.
If the Vs adjustment does not fully eliminate the “Error Diffusion” issue, then contact
Samsung Tech Support for panel replacement authorization.
