Subject: Random Reboot / Clicking sound
SYMPTOM
- About 5 to 10 minutes after starting up the TV set, it reboots.
- TV randomly reboots while watching the TV
- Sound stops being output and the TV restarts.
- The TV produces a sharp noise (Beep) and then the TV restart
- Clicking noise when tv is not on
- During TV standby, customer can hear often a characteristic click as when turning it ON and OFF
- Devices connected to the TV set start by themselves randomly when the TV is OFF
CAUSE
Software error.
SOLUTION
Update the SoftWare version to PKG6.0394 (attached to this Technical Bulletin) or above like explained in the ‘Software packages follow-up’ Technical Bulletin for your applicable chassis. (20TV012)
Download the applicable file attached to this Technical Bulletin, unzip and copy the extracted file ( sony_dtv0FA80A0CA0AC_00004100_16003941000053.zip ) to the root of an empty USB stick.

!! Remark:
If a Factory Data Reset is done after updating to the attached PKG 6.0394,
- the DVB-S reception stops and no DVB-S tuning is possible.
- No signal level indication in the tuning menu for DVB-S.
- DVB-S scan fails with 0 services found.
This will be solved in the next SW release that is planned for End November.
