SUBJECT: Air Bubble or Delaminating of the LCD panel for the 46” and 52” models listed
above.
SYMPTOM: Starts with a small circular area (air bubble) eventually growing into a horizontal
or vertical line (see photos) and is visible both when the TV is powered on and off.
Warranty coverage: The panel and labor coverage has been extended one year only for the
delaminating symptom.
The following procedure is required for the extended warranty coverage:
o Call tech support for a panel authorization number ( the “Panel Certified” process is
excluded from this procedure and therefore you are required to call Tech support for an
authorization number)
o The form at the end of this service bulletin is to be filled out completely and secured with
tape to the front of the returned panel (Do not place on the outside of the box).
o 100% of all returned panels will be inspected and if determined not to be a
delamination issue, the claim will be rejected.
o Failure to meet all of these requirements will cause a delay or rejection of warranty claim.
REPAIR: With the TV is powered off, determine if the vertical or horizontal line is a delaminating
issue by inspecting the area on the panel where the line appears. If you see a discoloration (it will
show as a different shade from the surrounding surface area) on the surface of the panel in the
same location as seen with the TV powered on; it is a delamination issue and will require panel
replacement. Replace the panel following the procedure outlined in the service manual located on
GSPN.
