Subject: Short screen flash while watching.
SYMPTOM - While watching a bright white flash can be seen on the screen - Intermittently the screen flickers - Backlight flashing happens while watching
CAUSE
Software error.
SOLUTION
Sony is investigating the issue and plan to resolve it a.s.a.p..
Do not replace any spare parts (mainboard, etc.) or create any AEP for this issue.
Intermediate workaround:
temporarily disable Motion Flow on the inputs showing this issue.
Note: the TV picture could become a bit less fluent.
To change the Motion Flow setting, please follow below steps (do note that this needs to be done for each input showing this issue):
- Press the Settings button on the remote (Gear Icon)
- Navigate left to the ‘Settings’ icon and press the OK button on the remote
- Navigate down to ‘Display & Sound’ and press OK on the remote
- Navigate to ‘Picture’ and press OK on the remote
- Navigate down to ‘Motion’ and press OK on the remote to open this menu section
- Use the arrow keys to change the setting ‘Motionflow’ to ‘Off’
