Introduction
TEOS is an advanced workplace management solution that allows our Sony Bravia TVs to be optimized and used in different corporate environments further than normal customers usage at home. Different customers and companies will transform their workplace using Bravia and the full suite of solution add-ons brought by TEOS.
Sony has focus during the last years in two different TEOS options:
- TEOS Manage (/TM): advanced workplace management solution, integrates a wide range of solutions.
- TEOS Connect (/TC): this option is intended for BRAVIA meeting (FREE version) and mirroring only.
Purpose of this document
Depending on the needs of our customers, different licenses and/or solutions would had been installed and configured in their sets. When one of this sets needs a repair, we would need to follow different procedures depending on their configuration.
- TEOS Connect (TC) are natively compatible with TEOS, these models have a TEOS license called “license for mirroring” which is linked to Model and serial number. TC has been used more in the past with a package called BRAVIA Meeting 1.0 3 and TEOS Connect, our mirroring solution (before Chromecast and Apple Airplay) with the licenses embedded and registered. This reference will tend to be end of life somewhere during 2021.
- TEOS Manage (TM) are natively compatible with Teos, and the TEOS license will be associated to the model after connecting to network (the license is on the server side). TM is the reference Sony wants to push more to our customers installation is different as we use our Signage app to respond to our need for Meeting rooms with a solution called Meeting Display in our TEOS portfolio This one doesn’t embed TEOS Connect license but only the apps are preinstalled, and configuration is done Sony will move towards this solution only in the future.
When and how to transfer licence
- Exchange of Mainboard or Factory Data reset:
o Whether customer has a TM or a TC license, there is no need of additional configuration in terms of licenses of the product. You would only need to install the TEOS receiver app (if necessary) in the TV. In addition, you would need to configure the TV with the same configuration as you received from the customer. Although each customer will have a different configuration, you can check in the section “The basic common professional settings” a list of usual configurations.
o Don’t forget to reassign product ref + serial number in service menu: if not, license will NOT work.
o You will need for the reregistration an internet access for the device (if there is no internet access, maybe try the smartphone network threatening), and the license key
o The licenses codes can be found under
https://adminpanel.teosmanage.com/ and under Basingstoke Warehouse click on Connect licenses where all the TEOS Connect licenses are stored
o With a ctrl+F search for the device serial number to find the license code.
o After installing the /TC package with apps etc, open TEOS Connect app and insert the license code when having internet access, as soon as this is done, device will be again registered, and internet access is not mandatory anymore if it was not used.
