Subject: Creaking / crackling Noise after switching TV ON or OFF [REVISION 2]
SYMPTOM
A crackling / creaking noise – with sound muted - can be heard coming form the TV set itself after switching ON or OFF the TV set
CAUSE
Different expansion coefficient of the various mechanical components used in a device.
SOLUTION
Noise made during heating up or cooling down due to the expansion or contraction of the various used components used in a device is a normal phenomenon.
This is not a fault or a defect so an AEP event or any parts replacement is not allowed.
How to measure:
TV standing on a table at least 30cm from a wall.
Background noise less than 25dB
Noise meter (for ex. Rion NL-32) at 1 meter from centre of screen.
Room temperature 25 degree Celsius +/-2 degree
Measure during 1 hour after switching OFF / ON the set.
