Software Upgrading Procedure EG-1L200Hz Chassis
SYMPTOM
This Technical Bulletin describes the software upgrading procedure for the EG-1L200Hz chassis when, amongst
others, exchanging the BGE board.
SOLUTION
Follow the outlined procedure below for upgrading to the latest software version, using the attachment to Technical
Bulletin 08TV066.
1. Memory Stick Formatting
1-1. Take a Memory Stick of at least 16 MB (128 MB recommended).
1-2. Format the Memory Stick using a Memory Stick formatter. A special program can be downloaded from:
http://support.sony-europe.com/memstick/downloads/downloads_ms.asp?l=en&f=MSFRM#disc.
NOTE: Windows formatters are not supported.
2. Update of MS DL Digital, VCTP, NVM VCTP & Verd data
2-1. Unzip the update file “MSImage_EG1L_PKGxxxxCE_BCN_VC.zip” attached to Technical Bulletin 08TV066.
2-2. Copy the “polo_proto1” folder into the root of your MS.
2-3. Switch off the TV using the [Power] key. Do not use the [Standby] key on the remote commander!
2-4. Insert the Memory Stick.
2-5. Switch on the TV using the [Power] key.
2-6. The “Digital Micro” will be updated. No download message appears. Only the green LED is ON.
2-7. When finished, the VCTP, NVM VCTP & Verd update will start. An “UPDATE START” message appears. If the
update process does not start (no LEDs activity, see below note), go directly to “3. TT number application”.
