EG-1H Upgrading Procedure for Software / Board Exchange [REVISION 1]
SYMPTOM
This Technical Bulletin describes the software upgrading procedure for the EG1H chassis, using a Memory Stick.
• An update is needed in case of a MCB replacement (e.g. AE board or FBA board) or software fixes.
• The following data and programs are affected by an update.

SOLUTION
Follow the procedure below to correctly update all software data.
NOTE
In case of problems during upgrading, disconnect and reconnect the AC cable, and try to upgrade again. Never
remove the Memory Stick during upgrading, since the set will not work correctly anymore afterwards.
1. Memory Stick Preparation
Refer to Technical Bulletin 08TV081 to verify the types of Memory Stick that are recommended.
• Remove unnecessary files from the MS before copying data.
• Use a Memory Stick formatter (Windows formatters are not supported). Sony format programs can be obtained
from
http://support.sony-europe.com/memstick/downloads/downloads_ms.asp?l=en&f=MSFRM#disc.
• Choose “Full” format (not “Quick” format).
• The flash size should be 32MB or higher.
• Preferably use a Sony device. A steady performance of products of other brands is not guaranteed.
• The file written to the MS is a ‘Memstick.ind’ file.
2. Updating Procedure
2-1. Extract the “EG1H_pkg_xxxx_memorystick.zip” file attached to Technical Bulletin 08TV084. A folder named
“egh1_proto1” will be created.
2-2. Copy the entire “eg1h_proto1” folder into the root of the Memory Stick.
2-3. Power ON the TV, and confirm that the picture appears.
