IMPORTANT
This Technical Bulletin has been released exclusively for problems with ITALIAN broadcasting services using
SmartCAM SD or HD MPEG2/MPEG4. No repair is needed for other broadcasters.
SYMPTOM
When the SmartCAM is connected to the TV, no matter whether the card is inserted in the CAM or not, macro
blocks may appear on the screen quite often, even on "Free to View" services.
SOLUTION
1. On the Main Board, change resistor R7308 to the part indicated below.

OLD RES, Chip 150 / 1/16W + or -5% 1-218-943-11
NEW RES, Chip 22 / 1/16W + or -5% 1-218-933-11
2. Upgrade the software to the latest version, referring to the table on the next page for the applicable models and
software files.
