Serial Number Writing 1721
SYMPTOM
No serial number and model name after board exchange.
CAUSE
Generic serial number for service.
SOLUTION
Write the applicable serial number to the NVM by the BE jig and TL3 jig. The serial number address in the NVM
consists of 4 bytes in hexadecimal format.
1. Download and unzip the "Code2_XEL1.zip" file attached to this Technical Bulletin, and run the “Code2.exe” file.
2. Make sure that the COM port baud rate is set to "38400”.
3. Open the "Analyzer" window ([MENU] => [TOOLS] => [ANALYZER]), and check the [Add Check Sum] box.

4. Calculate the hexadecimal code based on the serial number, for example using the Windows scientific
calculator. Enter the serial number (e.g. 4000001) and select [Hex] to have it converted to the hexadecimal code
(“3D 09 01” in the example).
