Subject: Compatibility update with Sony 4K media player (FMP-X5) [REVISION 1]
SYMPTOM
For HDMI 2.0, replace “CV3” by “CV4” board.
The unit does not detect the new “CV4” board.
SOLUTION
In case of “CV3” by “CV4” board replacement
1. Update the unit software by USB (PKG1505 or later)
Refer to “Software update procedure” in this document or to 13TV003 Technical Bulletin.
2. Order and replace the “CV4” board

3. Go into the service mode and change the “CV4_DET” item
Refer to “CV4_DET item change” in this document.
In case of defective “BAPS” board
1. Check the CV board version which is installed in the unit

4. If the unit is equipped with the “CV3” board the procedure is complete. If the unit is equipped with the “CV4” board jump to next step.
5. Go into the service mode and change the “CV4_DET” item if needed. Refer to “CV4_DET item change” in this document.
Software update procedure
1. Prepare the USB memory (including USB image and unzip file).
2. Turn the unit ON.
3. Insert the USB memory into the main board USB slot.
4. The unit starts the software update.
5. After around 5 minutes the unit will reboot by itself and the complete message will be displayed.
6. Remove the USB memory and select [OK].
CV4_DET item change
1. Go into the service mode: In standby, press [i+] > [5] > [Vol+] > [I/O].
2. Press [OPTION] “Chassis Service” menu appears.
3. Press [2] 4 times and [1] 4 times “CV4_DET” is displayed.

4. Press [3] to change the data. CV3 board to “0” CV4 board to “1”
5. Press [MUTE] and
6. Unplug/plug the AC power.
7. Turn the unit ON and wait 30 seconds or more.
8. Go into the service mode and confirm that “CV4_DET” value is set correctly.
9. Exit the service mode and check Picture/Sound from HDMI-2 input.
