Subject: Defect Remote Commander RM-ED060 & RM-ED061 [REVISION 1]
SYMPTOM
1. Does not work at all
2. Continuously sends signal
3. Does not work from certain distance, usually 4 meters
4. Has key stuck
CAUSE
Problem happened during remote commander board manufacturing process.
Cracks were created in carbon-switch pattern and PSR (resist). Cracks make impedance lower between carbonswitch
and copper pattern underneath. Cracks were initially made in PWB process. High temperature and humidity
can influence the symptoms.
SOLUTION
Replace the Remote commander with the Part Numbers mentioned in the Service Manual.
Keep the defective Remote Commander during two months, Sony may request it for investigation purposes.
Report accurately like explained below.
Service accounts uploading in CLARIFY (3C web services): report the case under the TV model name.
Service accounts uploading in IBISS: report the case under the Remote Commander model name.
Indicate the correct symptom that the customer claimed after confirmation. Use the IRIS codes like
mentioned in the ASC reporting table below.
Indicate the part number replaced.
