SYMPTOM
YouTube service no longer starting / no longer available on models that used to have this service pre-installed.
One of following messages are being displayed (message is model specific):

CAUSE
Google, the service provider of YouTube, will no longer support certain YouTube apps on legacy devices from 20
April 2015 onwards. This issue is not linked only to Sony.
SOLUTION
For the affected models (showing message 1) (FY11 and before):

http://www.youtube.com/devicesupport There will be no software update released for the affected models.
Workaround: YouTube is a very popular service that is available on a large number of devices, these
include Blu-ray players, game consoles, tablets & mobile phones as well as any array of products from
other brands. We recommend you to watch YouTube with one of these devices, whereon the YouTube
service is supported, connected to external input of your TV.

Only the newer version of the YouTube application (internally called ‘Leanback’) can be used from 20 April
2015 onwards.
