SOLUTION:
1. Please provide the following explanation to the customer: “To achieve the slimmest design with excellent picture
performance, the XD93 series uses a multiple light guide plate structure as backlight. (A normal /conventional LCD TV
uses just a single guide plate structure). Then, in order to maintain the thinnest structure, the structure of the XD93
series is more flexible than other TVs. It is normal that the shape may not appear entirely straight when the TV is not

handled carefully (see HANDLING ADVICE below) or when the TV gets warm. This is not a fault or defect; it is normal and a result of sophisticated slim design and new backlight technology.”

2. If the customer does not accept the explanation above, please measure the actual TV warping by using a tensioned thread and a ruler (see MEASUREMENT METHOD below), then create a SEF escalation with following info: TV model name, serial number, picture “A” and picture “B” or picture “C” showing the actual measurements (see below). Sony will reply to your SEF request and advise you how to proceed.
<MEASUREMENT METHOD>
IMPORTANT: The TV warping values will vary depending on whether the TV is in a cool or warm/aging condition at the time of measuring. We strongly recommend taking the measurements when the set is in a cool condition, i.e., when the set has not been switched on for at least 1 hour.
