Memory Stick PRO can not be read, software upgrade
Symptoms / Customer Description
NOTE: The serial number labels are on both the back of the Display and the MRU.
The serial number range given is for the MRU's not the Display unit. The QH Board for Models:
KDE-42XBR950, KDE-50XBR950, KDE-61XBR950, KDL-32XBR950, and KDL-42XBR950 are located in the MRU.
The reason for this is the MRU's can be matched with any given Display unit from the same family. I.e. an MBDXBR950 can be connected to a KDE-42XBR950, KDE-50XBR950, or KDE-61XBR950 Display section.
TV has a Memory Stick Pro compatible media viewer, but when Memory Stick Pro media is used (both Sony brand and non-Sony brand), it appears as if the TV can not read the data from it correctly. Other non Memory Stick media (none Pro type) seem to work fine.
Possible symptoms include:
* Getting an error message on the screen after inserting the MS PRO media.
* The pictures not displaying properly in index mode, expanded full view or in sideshow mode.
* Receiving an error message or automatically returning to index mode when attempting to
rotate, protect an image or during other operations when the TV is interfacing with the MS
PRO media.
* Whole or partial damage to individual files, more than one file or possible damage to the Memory Stick PRO media itself.
NOTE: Sony recommends backing up all images onto a PC or other media before displaying them in the Media Viewer on your TV.
CAUSE:
A) The Memory Stick Viewer board firmware (software) has an incompatibility with some types of Memory Sticks Pro media. For this reason, the TV can not access images stored on it.
B) The Memory Stick Viewer board hardware can not provide enough current to some types of Memory Sticks Pro media.

Solution
Replace with a new Memory Stick Viewer board which has both Countermeasures on it.
