Sony has designed the BRAVIA Televisions to be CUSTOMER Software Upgradeable and therefore Sony will not pay a service claim on any issue resolved by a software upgrade. If a customer requests an update please refer them to the following website:
http://www.updatemytv.com. If the unit requires the update, you may enter the customer's information in the website and a USB device will be sent to their address.
If a customer does not have access to the web please have them call the Sony Call Center Support line: 1-866-210-6333
If a customer reports either symptom above request that they unplug the set from the AC wall outlet for at least 30 seconds and then plug the set back in. This will reset the TV and it should work fine for several months. If resetting the TV does not resolve the issue the customer has a different problem and a service call by a technician may be required.
