Product Safety Precautions:
Product Safety Precautions are described in the Toshiba service manual(s) for models covered in this bulletin. All safety precautions
and checks shall be complied with before returning the equipment to the customer. Servicers who defeat safety features or fail to
perform safety checks may be liable for any resulting damages and may expose themselves and others to possible injury.
Application: The information contained in this bulletin applies only if you encounter the
symptom(s) listed below.
Symptom: No audio from either channel with popping sound at about .5 second
intervals. Popping sound is usually from right speaker or channel.
Cause: Speaker wire is pinched between chassis and LCD panel causing short to ground
of either the positive or negative speaker lead. This is caused by improper
dress of the right speaker cable during assembly of the unit.
Solution: Disassemble unit and locate pressure point pinching wire. Dress speaker cable
away from that and any other possible pressure points. Insulate wire harness
as necessary with either insulated tubing or other approved insulating
material.
