Symptom
Cause
Screen becomes black (white) and no picture appears. Or screen becomes white with colored lines.
Gate driver IC of the LCD panel is defective.
(Shorted-circuit between VGH and GND line in the Gate driver IC circuits)
Servicing
When the unit requires service due to the above mentioned symptom, take the below steps.
1. Remove the defect LCD panel module.
2. Measure the resistance value between VGH and GND at the FPCs of the removed LCD panel module.
For how to measure resistance value, see the next pages of this technical report.
If the resistance value is 1k ohms or less, the Gate driver IC is defective(short-circuit).
Replace the defective LCD panel module with a new one which has the new Gate driver IC(VHIT6LE7+++-1L).
3. To repair the defective LCD panel module, it is necessary to change all the Gate driver IC to the new Gate driver
IC (VHIT6LE7+++-1L). After changing to the new Gate driver IC, one black dot is added to the barcode of the
LCD panel module. See the next page of this technical report.
