General This is to notify that there are possibilities of white spot on TV display on ORION model LC-39LE440M and
the field service action related to this problem.
Subject White spot visible on the TV display. Refer to the example picture below.
Note : The symptom is easily visible when TV is viewed 15 degree from centre.

Cause After assembling at ORION factory of both diffusion sheet and Lens sheet as TV set, top of prism on H lens
sheet was adhered with Acrylic resin and peeled it off. This caused white spot on TV screen.
Configuration of optical sheets on back light module are as follows.
(Cell) - Upper diffusion sheet - H Lens - V Lens - Lower diffusion sheet - Light Guide Plate
There is improvement in term of checking/inspection onto the optical sheets production as below.
1. Sheet maker (KOLON) will make cross-cut test for every lot, and ship to ORION OK sheets only.
2.Incoming inspection of diffusion sheet at ORION factory.
Factory will check the back coating condition of diffusion sheet by microscope(x200 & x500) at incoming
inspection. Judgement to be made if there is spotted on coating or not as in Picture 1.1.

This Acrylic resin is the one indurated
by UV.
At sheet maker, the processing of UV
irradiation was not proper and was not
indurated enough.
