Is possible that some TV sets, sometimes, don’t turn on due to a malfunction of VCTP IC. These
TV sets after several trials by AC Cord, turn on again.
Inspection:
The TV set doesn’t turn on due to there is no I2C bus activity, because VCTP has not been properly
initialized. In this state, it’s not possible to enter in Bootloader mode. The TV set has no picture,
no sound, no backlight and the Power Supply Unit is in standby mode.
Countermeasure
When some of the above TV Sets is called for service due to the described phenomenon, proceed
as follows.
-Check on screen the VCTP software version (see Figure 1 on page 2/5). In case it is lower to
Ver1.202 for P55 or Ver1.042 for P70, update the software Version (VCTP Software):
1. Update the required VCTP Software Version File above detailed or upper, depending on the model.
1.1. Select the inches TV Set at “QS Temperature NVM Data Confi rmation Adjustment”.
1.2. Select the country TV Set at “Factory Settings adjustment”.
